I went to Emma's school today to have lunch with her. It is really brunch because they eat at 10:30am! She was surprised and excited to see me since I did not tell her I was coming. I got there a little early and went in her classroom just as the principal was about to finish reading to them. We walked to the cafeteria and went through the routine of getting our lunch. I had no expectations about the food and it was probably a good thing I didn't. Been a long, long time since I had a school lunch. Let's just say that my chicken sandwich needed almost all 3 packets of ketchup the lunch lady gave me! It was worth it to spend time at school with my girl. We finished lunch and walked back to her classroom. I stayed for story time and then left. It was fun to see all the kids in action and how quickly they get into their routine. I hope to go again in a few weeks.
Note to self: Emma is to take her lunch to school from now on!
