Tourists In Our Own Town.

We are so blessed to live in Charleston and sometimes we take it for granted. There is so much to do here and having lived here for over 15 years, there is still so much that I/we have not seen. Every time we go out of town, people always ask where we are from. When we say Charleston, most comment about how wonderful it must be to live in such a beautiful and historic city. We couldn't agree more!
Today we went to Drayton Hall Plantation. It is one of many plantations here in Charleston. We packed a picnic lunch and ate under incredibly beautiful oak trees. We had a guided tour of the main house. Timothy didn't last long for that so he and Gerald walked all around the grounds. Emma listened and was full of questions and interesting comments.
Emma: "Mama, I think this house is really old."
Me: "It is old, how old do you think it is?"
Emma: "Oh, Mama, it is really, really old. Like 57 years old!"

Try over 265 years old!

We enjoyed our visit and we hope to expose our 2 sprouts to more of what Charleston has to offer. It is fun exploring your surrounding through the eyes of a 3 year old and an almost 6 year old!

We went to Drayton Hall when Stephen was working at the base in Charleston. We loved it (Of course Emma was only 11 months and it was 110* so I am not sure how much LOVE she had!!!) . The grounds are gorgeous.
