School's Out for the Summer...

Emma's last day of school was yesterday but, on Tuesday of this week, parents and family were invited into her classroom for an end of the year picnic and awards day. I was ready with my Kleenex in hand! The whole class sang songs for us and then awards were handed out. The whole time I sat there mesmerized by these adorable youngsters and also at the same time I sat there wondering how in the world did the time go by so fast. I am officially the proud Mama of a 1st grader! Emma had a great year and I am so pleased with all she has learned. It will not surprise any of you to know that Emma was awarded the certificate for "Most Sociable". Each child received an award for a trait that fit them perfectly. Emma's was right on!

Emma,
Mama and Daddy are so proud of you! You had an awesome year at school even though the very thing that earned you the award for Most Sociable sometimes got you into situations that lost your daily sticker. Personally, that is one of the many things I love most about you. You can strike up a conversation with anyone, youngster or adult, and truly hold your own on just about any subject. Your smarts will someday challenge us more than they already do! I look forward to watching how much you grow and accomplish this year!
