1st Grade Here I Come!

Our Emma is officially a 1st grader!! We went last night to meet her teacher and she is very nice. I am sure Emma will have a great year at her new school. Although this is her 1st year at this school, she saw several kids last night from her preschool, summer camp and from her school last year. She goes into a new school already knowing about 7-8 other 1st graders so I felt really good about that. One funny note, her "boyfriend" Will from preschool is in her class! What an interesting year it will be! Emma will be riding the bus home most days. Timothy and I will take a short walk each day to meet her at the bus stop. Once the buses start running on time, she may ride the bus some mornings with her friend Claire.

Thank you BB for sharing this special day with us!

Not sure if you can read this but the kids were asked to write/draw about things they did this summer. Emma wrote " I went to go horse riding." A small shout out to Aunt Dorinda!

Will is at the table behind Emma, in the yellow shirt.

Emma,

We are all so proud of you! We know you will have a great year at your new school and you will learn so much. You have a great big wonderful family to support you along the way! Have fun and enjoy 1st grade!!
We love you to the moon and back times infinity!

Update:
Emma had a fantastic day at school today. She was all smiles coming off the bus although just a little tired from the long day. She was not very happy that Timothy and I walked to meet her at the bus stop. She was not thrilled to walk that quarter mile back home! Seems silly to drive to the front of the neighborhood unless there is bad weather but I guess heat and humidity equals bad weather after a long day! I will save walking until it cools down. Maybe she would be okay with the wagon!
Oh, and I am boosting up the number of kids Emma knows at her new school. I think it is up to 10-12 now. She wasn't voted "Most Sociable" in kindergarten for nothing!

Yes. I am one of those moms! I was considerate of the drivers waiting and did not take lots of pictures like I wanted to!
