Emma is currently at her first sleep-over! Maybe it is just me but I always thought sleep-overs happened at age 8 or 9. Not 6 years old. Maybe I am the one that needs to grow up and let go a little. All I can think about, as Emma is having loads of fun, is how did my baby grow up so fast?
Emma's friend/classmate Aubrie is having a belated birthday party/sleep-over tonight. About 9 little girls are at her house having one heck of a time. The screams were ear-piercing as the doorbell rang announcing a new arrival. I stayed about 45 minutes talking to other moms and then left to drive home. Her mom Stephanie was very gracious and sweet (she must have nerves of steel). I know Emma is in good hands. I am not worried about Emma getting home-sick, she's not the type. If there is fun to be had, she is there. That alone kinda scares me as I think ahead to the teen-age years!
I think I failed to mention that Aubrie lives on our street, actually too close to really drive a car to her house. I only drove because I didn't want to carry Emma's pillow, sleeping bag, and duffel bag! Oh, and it's cold outside! See, I can let go, just not too far!

I wouldn't be worrying about Emma--I woul be worrying about the MOM. ( 6 year olds oh, my:)
I know! I told her she was one brave soul to take that on!
Yep,I felt the same way about you and your sister--still do--
What fun for the girls! 9 six-year-old girls...wow! I remember my sleepovers well...I think you were there for a few-lucky you :)
Emma will have fun...and so will Timothy... having Mama and Daddy all to himself! Alyson was right, Mel, you and Lisa did help with some of the sleepovers we had. Thank you so much, but please don't ask me to reciprocate when Emma's turn comes! I'm too OLD!!!
I need my rest.
Love y'all,
Aunt Robyn
Well I got to talk to Emma this morning and hear all about it! According to her...she ate pizza and cake and never went to sleep last night. They stayed up & read books from the bathroom...(hmmmm?) And the best part..."when she got up this morning" she had donuts for breakfast, she picked the one with the most sugar!
Aubrie's mom said they all fell asleep around midnight. Awake around 6am. Yep, pizza and cake for dinner. Do-nuts for breakfast, I had one too. Not sure why the "bathroom" books were interesting. Gross.
Aly & Beans, I remember those sleep-overs well. Fun memories!
Sounds like fun...I want to go to a sleepover! Not too sure about the books from the bathroom part, but the rest sounds great!
