Happy Birthday Emma!

We had an awesome time celebrating Emma's 7th birthday on Sunday. It was a full day to say the least. Emma didn't know until Sat. that we were taking her to see Cinderella performed by the Charleston Ballet Theatre. I invited 2 of her friends to go with us. They knew about it and were really good at keeping the surprise from Emma, even as she went home with Merritt after school on Friday and played with Claire during the week. She was very excited. I was so glad the ballet performance was on her birthday and that she was was able to dress up and feel like a princess on her special day. Another major surprise was that BB and Gigi drove to Charleston to be with her on her birthday. She didn't know they were coming until they pulled up in the driveway!

3 beautiful princesses! Merritt, Emma and Claire

We were not allowed to take pictures during the performance so most of my pictures are of the girls between acts.

Emma's friend Gracyn - they met at summer camp last year. She was sitting in the same row!

My little Princess

After the ballet there was a meet and greet with Cinderella and her cat. She wished Emma a very Happy Birthday. She was thrilled.

After the ballet, we took the girls to dinner. Another surprise, Daddy and Timothy came by to join us. They were on their way back from the aquarium. It was a fun time!

Enjoying a yummy chocolate pie with M&M's on it. I cut it up so it could be shared. It was very rich and sweet.

The ride home was very spirited and LOUD! I think the sugar kicked in! There was lots of singing and laughter in the back of the car. My 1st thought was "earplugs please!" but on 2nd thought, it was perfect, exactly the way it should be. LOUD, FUN and SPECIAL! Thank you BB and Gigi for being with us and for the wonderful gift of the arts!

Happy Birthday Emma Rose, you are our sweet Princess.

Dear Emma Rose,
Happy Birthday to my sweet GREAT-NIECE! I can't believe how you have grown! Uncle Larry and I remember when we first saw you the day after you were born. We were so excited to meet you and gave you lots of hugs and kisses! You are still as sweet and loving as you were then. I'm glad you had a wonderful time with your friends at the ballet. What a special treat for a sweet 7 year old!
We miss you and look forward to seeing you soon. I'm sure you have grown now that you have turned 7. Let's see if you are almost as tall as me!

You've grown into a little young lady. I follow your life through your Mommie, Aunt Lisa and BB.
I know you don't really know me, but I know you. You are a beautiful little girl with amazing eyes and hair.
I even understand that you are nice to your little brother most of the time.
Ask BB, she'll tell you a few tales about us growing up together in Beaufort.
Hugs and kisses from me.
Maybe one day soon I'll be able to see you and give you a real live hug.
Love you,
