Our December Adventures

This post is extra long with lots of pictures of our December adventures. I guess it makes up for lack of posts I made this month. I hope to do better in 2010! The pictures are backwards on the post - older pics at bottom, newer ones at the top.

After EdVenture, we drove aroung the campus of USC. We went to the football stadium, saw some Gamecocks getting ready to go to the Bowl game (we unfortunately lost) and just looked around. We saw the building that I had most of my classes in and the dorm I lived in. The campus has changed greatly over the years, lots of new condos and restaurants. A much fresher, more modern look.

Our fun adventures at EdVenture! This is a wonderful children's museum in Columbia. Both kids have a great time exploring the whole place.

Timothy loves moon sand!

The new traveling exhibit this time was "Snowville". The kids loved it because this is something we never get to see here. Timothy played hockey and played in "snow". We do have a great hockey team here in Charleston, the Stingrays, but we do not have snow. I personally am thankful we don't have snow but it would be fun to venture to a place that has real snow just to experience it. And then leave!

Doing the weather and news cast.

After leaving NC, we headed to Uncle Larry and Aunt Robyn's house at Lake Murray. We appreciate you letting us stay there and explore Columbia again! On Sunday we went to the South Carolina State Museum. We had never been before and it was lots of fun. They had a dinosaur exhibit that was awesome. Most of the dinosaurs were mechanical and very life-like. Timothy was a little spooked by some! We enjoyed learning more about the great state we live in.

Philip Simmons. His beautiful gates and iron work can be found all over Charleston. He was born and raised here, sadly he died in 2009 at the age of 97.

Timothy thought this was funny but would not dare do the same thing!

On Christmas Eve we drove to North Carolina to spend Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa. It rained all Christmas Day but we still enjoyed playing inside and visiting family. Some cousins were in town that we had not seen in a long time. Plus some I had never met. We had a great time and we appreciate all Grandma's great meals and our wonderful gifts.

Emma getting some footie pajamas. She loves them!

Timothy got a huge airplane and bus. Lots of little details and pieces. He is enjoying flying it around the house!

This crazy female Cardinal has been pecking at our window for about 2 weeks now. Was still at it today. Not sure what it sees or wants but it keeps trying to get in. It leaves at dark but comes back the next morning! It was cute at first but now it is slightly annoying.

Special Person's Day at Timothy's school. BB and Gigi came up for the occasion. They have not missed at SP Day since the kids have been in pre-school. Thank you so much for coming and making the day so special! I think we were the only family with 4 generations represented. We are so blessed!

I was a chaperone for Emma's class, we went to see A Christmas Carol by the Charleston Stage Company. It was wonderful and all the 2nd graders were so good. Pictures were not allowed during the production.

We had our family party at Aunt Robyn's house. The kids were great and they loved all their new gifts!

Thick fog heading into downtown Beaufort.

We celebrated Gerald and Lisa's birthday that night also.

Now I know where T gets his silliness!

Emma got her very first American Girl! Thank you BB!!

More Hot Wheels!

Lighting the Hanukkah candles at BB's house. Emma read the blessings in Hebrew and they lit the candles together.
