The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has declared that this is the Week of the Young Child. Timothy's school celebrated with a theme called "Read with Me".
His school is one of only 4 schools accredited by NAEYC within a 200 mile radius of Charleston. NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life.
