Visiting NC and Day 1 in Atlanta

On day 1 of our Spring Break trip, we drove to NC to visit Grandma and Grandpa. They kept our fur-babies for us so we could see as much of Atlanta as possible. Thank you! It was nice to include the grandparents in our trip. We spent the night and got on the road shortly after breakfast.

The shirt says it all.

We took a walk on a new trail that just opened in Nov. 2009. It is winds through a quarry and has a few more phases before it is complete. What we saw was very nice and we look forward to taking a longer walk when completed. The trail has lots of hills, something we are not used to here! Not sure what kind of plant is above. I thought it was photo-worthy.

"What'll ya have, What'll ya have"!!

We arrived in Atlanta at lunch time and decided to eat at a place that Atlanta is known for. The Varsity! The atmosphere was fun and nostalgic. The food was good, not the best burger or hot dogs around, but the history of the place made up for that. It was Sunday and we were lucky to catch it busy but not packed like on a normal weekday.

After lunch, we went to the World of Coke. We had fun learning more about this product that has touched so many lives in so many ways. Atlanta is the Coca-Cola headquarters and there was no Pepsi products to be found unless you were headed out of town. We walked all around and watched the bottling process and saw lots of Coke memorabilia . At the end, we sampled Coca Cola products from around the world. We each had our own favorite. It was quite an experience for the kids since all I let them have previous to this visit is Sprite.

Creating some Pop Art.

Time to sample Coke products from around the world.
