Happy Birthday BB!After Beaufort we went to the lake house in Chapin. We enjoyed our 4 day stay there. It was super hot, mid 90's everyday. Factor in the humidity and it felt well over 100.

Monday was to be the coolest day of the week so we picked this day to go to Riverbanks Zoo. We toured the botanical gardens first to beat the heat.
The kids loved these water misters. They did feel good on a hot day!
Love the flamingos but they sure do smell bad!
The gardens were beautiful and there were lots of plants in bloom.
Then we rode the tram back to the zoo to see the animals.

We love watching the penguins!
After the zoo we headed back to the lake house and decided to head to the pool. The water was still refreshing but a tad warm because of the heat and sun.
Timothy tried all kinds of ways to jump in the pool. Both kids are awesome swimmers and I have to thank camp for that. Everyday at camp they get Red Cross swim instruction in the morning and a free swim in the afternoon.

The next day we headed downtown to Edventure kids museum. We love this museum because it is educational and so hands-on.
The Butterflies and Blooms exhibit was back and we loved watching the butterflies flutter around.

The traveling exhibit this time was The Blue Man Group. Lots of hands on fun using music and sound.

We toured USC, went to the mall, the movies, and a few other activities. It was a fun-filled family trip! Looking forward to the next visit, maybe something more relaxing like a Gamecock football game (without the kids.)

We are so happy that you all had fun. Let us know when you would like to go again. There are a lot of fun things to do in Columbia. We love you guys!
